Mumm RSRV Blanc de Noirs
AN HOMAGE TO AN EXCEPTIONAL TERROIR
Mumm RSRV Blanc de Noirs celebrates all the nuances characteristic of Mumm’s signature grape variety, Pinot Noir.
The production of Mumm RSRV Blanc de Noirs begins at the heart of the Mumm vineyards. This remarkable estate is spread across 218 hectares of vines, of which 160 are situated in Grand Cru villages. This outstanding terroir features a unique climate, hilly slopes and limestone subsoil, accounting for exceptional vintages and the style and elegance of the House’s champagnes. Mumm RSRV Blanc de Noirs reflects both the richness of this terroir and the House’s outstanding craftsmanship.
RSRV Blanc de Noirs 2009 is produced from Pinot Noir from Verzenay, a Grand Cru in the north of the Montagne de Reims, a historic location for the House. It was in Verzenay that the Mumm Champagne House bought its first vineyard plots in 1840.
The distinctive character and minerality of this terroir produce a straightforward, powerful Pinot Noir and bestow this cuvée with elegance and complexity. Alongside flavors of yellow fruit as well as toasted and brioche notes on the palate, this champagne reveals long, beautiful intensity.
RSRV BLANC DE NOIRS: A GREAT WINE
Mumm RSRV Blanc de Noirs epitomizes the essence of the House’s style. Almost two centuries after acquiring its first plots in Verzenay, Mumm continues to express the best of its terroir and Pinot Noir grapes in this outstanding cuvée.
Produced in a limited quantity, this vintage champagne benefits from a minimum of six years aging in the House’s cellars, to develop its full aromatic richness and structure.
Beneath its yellow color and golden highlights, Mumm RSRV Blanc de Noirs displays smoky notes on the nose, complemented by aromas of vanilla, pear marmalade and buttered croissants. Pinot Noir’s power and structure create a frank initial impact on the palate, which then develops to a certain tension on the finish.
Mumm RSRV Blanc de Noirs pairs perfectly with a mature Comté, dried fruit and toasted almonds. It also makes an excellent accompaniment to white meat and game fowl.
